We will keep you pretty busy during the conference, with full days of presentations and two evening events (dinner out Thursday evening and a reception Friday evening). But you’ll be on your own Wednesday evening, plus any other time you’re in Chicago before or after the conference. Here are some things you can consider doing nearby the conference:
Chicago architecture tours: By boat, bus or foot.
Millennium Park: Find out why everybody loves “the bean” (Cloud Gate is its real name). Snap a selfie, or take an audio tour.
Wrigley Field: Watch the Chicago Cubs take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Chicago Cultural Center: Enjoy a wide range of free exhibits, including Keith Haring’s mural panels and Alexis Rockman’s exploration of the past, present and future of the Great Lakes.
And much, much more. Chicago has a lively theater scene, loads of restaurants, fascinating ethic neighborhoods, 28 miles of lakefront path, and excellent public transit. Buy a multi-day ticket for unlimited bus and “L” rides.
